Beat Frei is a Certified Public Accountant. He holds a degree in business administration with a banking and finance focus from the University of Zurich. He has worked in finance for more than 15 years. In addition to his expertise as an internal and external auditor of various banks, he has also acquired extensive knowledge of operational risk management.

He spent several years with a major bank and with various asset management banks doing audits. He was later responsible for developing and implementing group-wide operational risk management for an international banking group. His last position took him to the public sector, where he was responsible for auditing the Federal Department of Finance, among others.
